Trinidad Amaro Sour

Bourbon, Amaro di Angostura, Lemon Juice, Maple Syrup, Egg White
The Story

The classic Trinidad Sour uses 1½ oz Angostura bitters. First, who wants to pry the dasher cap off the bitters bottle. Second, ounce for ounce, bitters are much more expensive than a typical 750ml bottle of liquor. This variation on the classic uses Amaro di Angostura instead. The bonus is that you now also have a delicious bottle of amaro to sip on later.

Ingredients
  • 1½ oz Bourbon

  • 1 oz Amaro di Angostura

  • 1 oz Lemon Juice

  • ½ oz Maple Syrup

  • 1 Egg White

Preparation
  1. Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker

  2. Dry shake

  3. Add ice and shake for 8-10 seconds

  4. Double strain into a chilled coupe

  5. Garnish with a lemon twist
