Marginalia

Sherry, Rye, Benedictine, Black Walnut Bitters
The Story

The Story: A quiet, stirred sipper for the nights you're reading as the leaves fall outside. Oloroso does the heavy lifting (nutty, dried-fig, a little raisined) with just enough rye to give it a spine.

Ingredients
  1. Add all ingredients to a cocktail mixing glass

  2. Add ice and stir for 30 seconds

  3. Strain over a large ice cube in a lowball glass

  4. Express orange peel and drop into glass

Preparation
  • 2 oz Oloroso or Amontillado Sherry

  • ½ oz Rye Whiskey

  • ¼ oz Benedictine

  • 2 dashes Black Walnut Bitters (or Orange Bitters)
