French Connection

The Story
This cocktail came into being in the 1970s and is clearly named for the classic film of that era. It's a simple 2 ingredient cocktail with a lot of flavor. Difford's Guide has a recipe of the same name with just Cognac and Amaretto, but ours uses Grand Marnier (or some other Cognac-based orange liqueur). Try both and let us know what you think.
Ingredients
1½ oz Cognac
1 oz Grand Marnier
Preparation
Combine ingredients in a mixing glass
Stir with ice for 30 seconds
Strain into a lowball with a large ice cube
Garnish with an orange twist
Source
The original creator of this cocktail is unknown, but we found this version from The Educated Barfly on Instagram.
