Shoddy Toddy

Gin, Benedictine, Lemon, Ginger Syrup, Green Tea
The Story

Sometimes we need a warm drink when we're feeling down. That's when we turn to the Toddies! The usual build of a Hot Toddy is a boozy base (whiskey is common) with a hot tea (green or black) and honey and lemon. Well, our Runaway Godfather, Anders Erickson has his own spin on the old model!

This is a gin hot toddy, which already is a fun twist. He sweetens his toddy with Benedictine and Ginger Syrup. If you don't have ginger syrup, another option is a small amount of ginger liqueur (as if this thing needs to be boozier!). Add the tea and lemon and you've got a soothing drink for cold nights or whenever.

Cheers!
