Old Hickory

Sweet Vermouth, Dry Vermouth, Orange Bitters, Peychaud's Bitters
The Story

This is another "vermouth cocktail". That means vermouth is the base and none of the base liquors you'd expect are to be found here. This cocktail is "perfect", meaning that it balances both sweet and dry vermouth (that's how you make a "perfect martini" too...). This is a well balanced, low alcohol cocktail that is a smooth sipper. It's probably good if you like vermouth if you're planning to mix this one. We really enjoyed it. Cheers!

Ingredients
  • 1 oz Sweet Vermouth

  • 1 oz Dry Vermouth (Dolin)

  • 1 dash Orange Bitters

  • 3 dashes Peychaud's Bitters

Preparation
  1. Add all ingredients to a mixing glass

  2. Add ice and stir for at least 30 seconds (longer is okay)

  3. Strain into a chilled Nick and Nora glass (no garnish)
