Negroni and the Goat

Gin, Aperol, Averna, Sweet Vermouth
The Story

We added a new Amaro to the backbar this Summer with Averna, in order to make the Debbie Don't. We went looking for another cocktail to use with this unique flavor and found it with the Negroni and the Goat. This cocktail is not a traditional Negroni, as it uses Aperol instead of Campari, but for those new to bitter cocktails (including this author) that's maybe a good thing. This is a tasty option as a entry drink to the bitter side of cocktails. Sweet on the front end (especially if you use Plymouth Gin) and bitter in the middle and finish. Check it out! Cheers!

  • ½ oz Averna Amaro

  • ¾ oz Sweet Vermouth
